Well, I’m a pretty “simple” guy.
For example: I tend to seek out the easiest way to get from one point to another. I’m energized thinking about how to make something work better or more efficiently. Or how to build something in the easiest most practical way. Some call me "the master tweaker”! And I’ve found that, like most people, I have some "basic needs". The need to be loved, accepted, forgiven and a desire to live a fulfilling, purposeful life. And to know where I came from and what happens when I die. For many years I tried to address these needs through other people, things and activities and various religions. |
Then some 30+ years ago… I came to know JESUS and discovered to my amazement, that all of these needs were greatly fulfilled in my newfound relationship with Him!
Since then, each day, through the good and the bad, I experience the JOY of Jesus’ love, acceptance, His forgiveness and have a desire to live out what is important to Him. And I’m looking forward to someday experiencing Him completely unhindered, fully in His presence in heaven.
But there resonates deep within me, a LONGING for others to experience this too. To me, in all of life, there’s nothing more important than connecting with our Savior - JESUS. It’s not something I consciously think about …it just percolates within my soul…I suppose it’s sort of Jesus’ heart beating in me. It’s who He has made me to be.
This causes me to live closely around the verse, Romans 1:16, “I’m not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation…". I saw that power at work in me when someone used the Gospel to point me to Jesus. And I’ve seen that same power at work while sharing with others. So getting back to the ‘simple one’ God made me to be…
For me, the simplest, most direct way to get someone from unbelief to belief is to ultimately share the GOOD NEWS. Exposing them to the Gospel and helping them make an "informed decision". Helping them to know about Jesus and hopefully, to knowing Him personally.
First, by letting Jesus move in my heart to CARE about others. Then, taking the time to graciously sort through the distractions of life and focus on Jesus – essentially SHARING the Gospel message. It is through HIS message He introduces Himself to others.
The Bible says, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing the GOOD NEWS of Christ.” That’s what the Gospel does. The Gospel is the power God that leads to new LIFE in Him. He uses it to reveal Himself in Jesus and call people home to enjoy Him - now and forever.
AND... I LOVE TO HELP COACH CHRISTIANS HOW TO POINT PEOPLE TO JESUS! Much of my life has been training others to share their faith.
With God's help the ministry team is committed to make it happen. The team is growing.
And God can use you!
