​Below are GUIDELINES for leading a  John 3:16 GOOD NEWS...made simple! Workshop. 
(A workshop uses the ONLINE LESSONS in the Witnessing Course section.)
WORKSHOP SESSIONS
1. Why Share Our Faith?
2. Starting Spiritual Conversations
3. Explain the Gospel Using John 3:16 

​Each session takes about 1 hour
  • Consider doing 1 - 3 hour workshop
  • Or 3 - 1 hour sessions

Which Workshop is best for you? (instructions covered below)
  • Low Tech - Limited ability to print materials and use electronic projection. Pencil and paper is all you need. 
  • High Tech - Able to print handbooks and project powerpoint slides.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND - "GO WITH THE GOERS"
​Not every Christian has the desire to share their faith. Some don't realize God's call to do so. Others don't have His passion. 
​
​However, there are those who do. They are stirred by God to join Him in what He's doing. They will respond to training opportunities. People like you who have landed on this site. They are found in every Christian group God assembles. It may not be many but they are there.


EQUIP TO "SOW AND WATER"
Remember, when you train, you are equipping to "sow and water" seeds of faith. God Himself brings the "increase" (1 Corinthians 3:6).

The Bible says, "So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News  about Christ" (Romans 10:17). Planting and watering the Good News is God's method of building faith. ​Faith that saves. Stand encouraged as you mobilize others to get the Word out. That's our part.


GOD GIVES THE "INCREASE"
Trust the Lord with His part. He brings the "increase". Only God can save anyone. Don't ever feel a failure when someone doesn't respond to the message. It is up to God to do the "saving".

We are called to share the Good News. BE INTENTIONAL! We will never do it perfectly.  BUT God will use it. Just like the early disciples, we learn as we go. Never "give up". As we do our part God will bring the increase in His perfect timing.


GET PREPARED
As you pray and follow God to equip others, do your homework:
  • Get familiar with the material and methodology
  • Don't feel you must "be an expert" - perfect it along with the rest as you go through the training and put it into practice
  • TRUST the Lord to guide you - He put the desire in you

  • When and where
  • Promote or invite others 
  • Prepare the materials needed 
  • Pick the right Workshop - based on your technical resources​​

Low Resource Workshop

Designed for those who have LIMITED resources. 
​
​"Pencil and paper" is basically all you need. ​

WHAT YOU NEED for the WORKSHOP LEADER:
Leaders Notes

DETERMINE SCHEDULE
Each Lesson requires approximately 1 hour. 
  • Consider doing 1 - 3 hour session
  • Or 3 - 1 hour sessions


ROOM SET UP
  • Simple setup where participants can hear you and write notes

SUGGESTIONS: LESSON 1
  • Use the Leaders Notes to guide the session
  • Have participants use their Bibles to look up Scriptures
  • Make comments using notes provided and ask questions to illicit discussion


SUGGESTIONS: LESSON 2
  • Using your Leaders notes to encourage Prayer, Caring, Asking Questions and learning to trust the leading of the Holy Spirit. 
  • Explain the concept of Faith Stories and how they differ from a "salvation testimony". 
  • How to listen closely to other people and recognize areas He has helped you.  
  • Discuss the issues listed and how God can make a difference.
  • Go over the Faith Story Guide. 
  • Allow participants time to formulate a Faith Story and have them share it with another participant. 
  • Give an assignment to develop 2-3 more Faith Stories. This will help participants grasp the concept and make them more sensitive to opportunities. 


SUGGESTIONS: LESSON 3
[Note: Depending on how interactive your participants are, this lesson may require more time.] 
  • Using the Leaders Notes, go over the introduction.
  • Go over Leading Into Sharing The Gospel 
    • Asking Permission
    • Memorizing the 5 Key Questions and 5 Words that guide you as you explain the Gospel
  • Go over each Key Question/Word and use the Coaching Tips to share what to emphasize in answering each question. 
  • Point out that there isn't a precise way to answer them so they don't have to memorize an answer. 
  • Have participants jot down significant notes in the box for each question on their John 3:16 Worksheet. Words/thoughts they will use to help remember what they want to talk about to answer the question.  
  • Once you've finished and participants have filled out their John 3:16 Worksheets, have them use them to practice with another participant. 

Find ways for them to use their worksheets or the Witnessing Guides or Gospel Booklets to share with non-believers.

  • Have the Training Handbook available to keep participants on track
  • Be sure to study in advance and get helpful tips from the Leaders Guide. Refer to it as necessary during the Workshop. ​
